On the 24th of April 2010, over 20 performers were on stage at Shopfront for 24 hours in a large scale theatrical experiment examining what makes us anxious and what brings us peace.
The experiment was based on a structured performance exercise using restrictions to enable a large group to work with each other over an extended period of time.
Conducted under the guidance of director Michael Pigott. In a space with a white wall, 24 chairs and 8 beds, 24 performers were given three simple instructions- they can sit, they can stand and they can look side to side. At various intervals new instructions were added. The result was a fully improvised performance piece that combined live music, movement and speech that explored what makes us anxious and what brings us peace.
Audiences were invited to drop in throughout the 24 hours, in real time via the net or at Shopfront
