ARTSLAB PROGRAM OUTLINE

Immerse yourself in the life of an innovative arts community that inspires and supports the development of emerging artists creating new work. ArtsLab10 is an intensive arts laboratory and six month residency from April 27 - November 3 at Shopfront Contemporary Arts Centre. Make a film, write a script, create an installation, direct a play or perform your own solo piece.  ArtsLab gives emerging artists (aged 18-25) from across Australia the space, resources, training, and industry connections to experiment, create work and prepare for a lifetime as an artist.

"Artslab was invaluable. Shopfront gave me an artistic home. The rigorous program challenged me to meet deadlines, it gave me the chance to work with artists, develop skills, launch ideas and create work I'd otherwise think impossible, improbable and implausible' Brigid Vidler, ArtsLab08

Now in its fourth year, ArtsLab has launched  new work created by a number of extraordinary emerging artists.

We invite you to follow the work of previous residents as they continue their artistic journey.

three was a season of new theatre that was presented by the ArtsLab'09 residency at Shopfront Contemporary Art Centre, over six months David Buckley, Sam Dalley and Tim Spencer were hard at work shifting their ideas into solid forms that they unleashed to the unsuspecting public in late October 2009, as the creatures of their imagination took over Shopfront - audiences witnessed stories, dreams, singing and dancing with a healthy dose of love, fantasy and disrespect for authority.
