Luke Kerridge is an actor, director and theatremaker. Luke trained at NIDA where he appeared in productions of The Shifting Heart, The Slaughter of Saint Theresa’s Day, Undiscovered Country, The Wild Party, Richard III, and Variety Vaudeville & Basic Burlesque. His other credits include Blackrock (Glen St), Cross Purpose (Independent), and working with travelling theatre company The Grand Theatre of the Lemmings (UK). Luke’s teaching credits include NIDA Open Program, ATYP and the Sydney Vocal Arts Centre. Luke recently completed a Directing Internship with Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre (Brisbane) where he also performed in Butoh show Gaia (The Dairakudakan Project) and a production of The Tempest.  In 2009/2010 Luke  received  a Directing Secondment with Kate Gaul on the National Tour of FOX,  the collaborative project between Monkey Baa Theatre Company and Siren Theatre Company. FOX is a new australian opera for young people based on the picture book by Margaret Wild and Ron Brooks.  In June this year, Luke was successful in securing a residency with the Rough Draft program at the Sydney Theatre Company to develop a new work created specifically for families and young audiences. In collaboration with playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer and young people, Luke created and directed an adaptation of Reinhardt Jung’s exquisite and magical children’s book; Bambert’s Book of Missing Stories. Joined by a cast of actors and a tiny, bald puppet named Bambert, the team breathed theatrical life into Jung’s haunting tale about isolation, imagination and the enlivening power of art.
