Lab 1:Theatre and Invention
Does love tear you apart again or put you back together? Theatre and Invention mashes up excerpts from Plato’s Symposium; Charles Mee’s True Love; Romeo and Juliet, songs by Placebo, Bruce Springsteen, Howard Jones and Alicia Keys and Quentin Tarantino’s True Romance, to explore what we talk about when we talk about love.
Engage with some classic and contemporary texts and discover new forms and ways of building performance – working with a hot mix of young and emerging
artists (18-25) across various disciplines (performance, multi-media, visual arts, design, sound) to create a fresh new work in eight weeks.
Performers prepare a monologue - view monologue and scene lists here- prior to commencement of workshops on February 5. All artists are required to prepare some work for inclusion on the floor prior to workshops.
